October is World Hunger Action Month
Stop Hunger Now is partnering with thousands of volunteers around the globe for the fifth annual World Hunger Action Month this October. Hunger is a solvable problem and Stop Hunger Now understands that by providing people with the resources they need, they have an increased likelihood of becoming healthy, educated and self-sufficient. Stop Hunger Now supports community development projects to enhance family incomes, to increase access to and production of food, and to provide better management of natural resources.
“Social Protection and agriculture: breaking the cycle of rural poverty” has been chosen as the theme of this year’s World Food Day (WFD) to highlight its importance in reducing rural poverty and granting access to food or means to buy food. Social protection can be defined as a range of solutions, often combined with each other —such as work opportunities, provision of food, money and services— that are designed to support the vulnerable and help the poor in society move out of hunger and poverty.
Stop Hunger Now recognizes that hunger is a complex issue and understand that no one organization nor one approach can solve hunger alone. Creating effective partnerships is critical to address the many underlying causes of hunger. We invite you to join us this movement and make a difference.
Now is the perfect time to organize a packaging event, donate to Stop Hunger Now and advocate on behalf of those who are suffering from hunger. World Hunger Action Month is a powerful platform to motivate your community to make a difference in a single life or in many, to change the future today.
Kindness is contagious.
