Stop Hunger Now partners with nonprofits around the world to provide food and other life-saving aid to those in need. These partners support a variety of development programs that work with members of the community to meet their basic needs and create long-term, sustainable change.
Partners are selected after undergoing a comprehensive evaluation which addresses not only the effectiveness and sustainability of the organization’s programs, but also their ability to import, store and distribute meals, as well as provide regular reporting on their use and the impact of their programs. Stop Hunger Now staff members visit partner sites throughout the year to monitor the use of the aid that was provided and look for other ways that Stop Hunger Now can support their efforts.
Nearly 70% of Stop Hunger Now meals go to support school feeding, vocational training, child development programs, as well as to orphanages and medical clinics. Working with these programs helps enhance lives by giving beneficiaries the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty through education, skills development, and health care while also receiving much needed nutrition. Stop Hunger Now’s goal is to allocate 80% of its meals to development programs by 2015.
