Friday, January 29, 2010
Hundreds of volunteers in Virginia Beach package 225,000 meals for Haiti.
This past weekend, hundreds of volunteers in Virginia Beach worked at Kings Grant Presbyterian Church
to package meals for victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. Over six
hundred volunteers turned up, and over a period of two days the volunteers
packaged over 225,000 meals. Haiti
native Wilmina Augustin gushed about the eagerness of the volunteers. “It’s
warm, very warm to see from the heart, to see how people care,” she said. The
meals packaged by the volunteers should arrive in Haiti by next week.
