Warehouse Manager – Richmond, VA
We are currently seeking a warehouse manager for our warehouse
facility in Richmond
where volunteers package high quality, dehydrated meals and food is shipped for
distribution. The warehouse manager is responsible for maintenance of the
warehouse and receiving and shipping of all goods. The manager also coordinates
off-site and warehouse meal packaging events, including training and
supervising work of the volunteers. Position
ensures supplies are on-hand as needed and outgoing food product is shipped in a
timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Load and unload raw materials, packaged meals, equipment
and supplies by hand, pallet jack and forklift
• Package finished product for shipping: shrink wrap, box,
label and palletize
• Ensure that warehouse facilities meet health and
sanitation regulations
• Clean and organize warehouse and all equipment, perform
maintenance on equipment
• Monitor and record inventory of raw ingredients, equipment
and meals shipped
• Order raw ingredients, equipment and supplies as needed
• Transport raw materials to satellite packaging locations
on a weekly basis and facilitate set-up of equipment and other materials
• Train volunteers on packaging procedures and adjust
volunteer assignments as needed for each event
• Facilitate a brief educational program on hunger for meal
packaging volunteers
• Ensure all documentation is processed and maintained
including invoices, bills of lading, and receipts of order
• Track and record volunteer service hours, communication with
constituents and status of meal shipments from warehouse
• Assist in program promotion by delivering presentations to
religious congregations, civic organizations, schools and other groups
• Collect funds raised at each event
QUALIFICATIONS AND
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelor's degree or one to two years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience
• Current valid driver’s license and clean driving
record, commercial vehicle license a plus
• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work flexible schedule including
frequent weekends and evenings
• Knowledge of inventory management and requisition
procedures
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills,
comfortable speaking in front of large groups
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, database and
internet software
• Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks, and meet
deadlines
• Experience, education or knowledge related to
hunger and/or non-profits strongly preferred
Compensation: $14.50-16.50 per hour
